Kid’s Dental Checkups & Cleanings

Similar to our adult checkups and cleanings, we will need to conduct a thorough yet gentle oral examination to ensure there is no decay, disease, infection, or damage. Our team will make sure your child feels comfortable throughout their appointment as well as explain the process of these visits and how to take better care of their smile while at home. Once the exam is complete, we’ll perform a cleaning to remove any hardened plaque and tartar, leaving your child with a healthier, more beautiful smile.

Silver Diamine Fluoride

When a cavity is present, we find that some children are not ready for a tooth-colored filling. Instead, we turn to silver diamine fluoride. The silver kills the bacteria, while the fluoride combats future decay and strengthens the remaining tooth enamel. By applying this treatment, we can stop the spread of harmful plaque and tartar and save the tooth from further damage, all without having to drill.

Dental Sealants

The chewing surfaces of teeth tend to be some of the most common areas for bacteria and food particles to accumulate. If neglected during regular brushing and flossing, they can become vulnerable to dental decay. Since children are often still learning how to clean these hard-to-reach areas, dental sealants can be a beneficial form of treatment. We can apply the thin, plastic coating over the surfaces of these back teeth to reduce the potential of plaque and tartar reaching the enamel.

Athletic Mouthguards/ Sportsguards

If you have an athlete in your family, you’ll want to make sure they are equipped with a custom athletic mouthguard/sportsguard. This uniquely crafted appliance is personalized with the help of your child’s dental impressions. Not only will it fit correctly and be comfortable to wear, but it will also absorb any unexpected (or expected) impacts to the teeth and gums during a game. This minimizes the potential for a serious dental injury as well as a trip to the emergency dentist’s office.
